  4.     Nowhere is love for and devotion to one's country more apparent
  5. than in Oliver North. But he has been found guilty on charges
  6. relating to his quest for freedom in Central America (NATION, May
  7. 15). His conviction is the most unpatriotic act that a country
  8. could perpetrate.

  13.     If I were the judge, I would sentence North to five years in
  14. prison and a fine of $250,000, and then suspend the sentence. North
  15. the symbol of overzealous patriotism would be penalized, since no
  16. one is above the law, but the man would go free. If I were
  17. President, I would pardon him.

  23.     As I read about Ollie North, I am reminded of the instructions
  24. from the TV show Mission: Impossible: "Should you or any member of
  25. your force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any
  26. knowledge of your actions." Is the next line "Good luck, Ollie"?
